Reba McWhorter

Death is so sad. Our dear friend, Reba McWhorter passed away yesterday (November 12, 2006) at 7:00 AM. She was a bright light to all who knew her. To me it is like my grandmother died. She gave hugs, encouragement, and optimism freely.

I am also so comforted to know that she had a relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. One day I will see her again and we will once again embrace — as grandmother to grandson. It will be a wonderful reunion.

2 Corinthians 5:8 (NKJV) 8 We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.

1 Corinthians 15:53-55 (NLT) 53 For our perishable earthly bodies must be transformed into heavenly bodies that will never die. 54 When this happens—when our perishable earthly bodies have been transformed into heavenly bodies that will never die—then at last the Scriptures will come true: “Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”
